Airtel Suspends Mobile Money Charges Following COVID-19 Threat.

Airtel Uganda on Thursday 19 March 2020, suspended mobile money charges in response to the prevention of COVID-19.

This was after MTN Uganda also scrapped their charges on all mobile money transactions for transfer of money from one person to another on transactions below Ugshs 30,000 for a period of 30 days.

Airtel announced that all Person to Person transactions will be free of charge for a period of thirty days.

Artel Money pay will also be free for all customers and all merchants for the period suggested by the Government.

This will therefore be convenient for everyone following measures of preventing the dangerous Corona virus introduced by the ministry of health one of which includes avoiding acquiring paper money.
