Uganda Discharges 10 More COVID-19 Patients Bringing The Total Of Recoveries To 38.
Ministry of Health on Monday discharged 10 COVID-19 patients bringing the total number of recoveries in Uganda to 38.
A total of 10 patients including 5 children from the Watoto Choir, 3 of their attendants, 1 boda boda rider from Kasubi,1 from Kalangala) were discharged from Entebbe Grade B hospital.
“10 patients including 5 children from the watoto choir, 3 of their attendants, 1 boda boda rider from kasubi,1 from kalangala) were discharged from entebbe grade b hospital bringing the total number of recoveries to 38,” a statement from the ministry of health read.
According to the State Minister for Primary Health Care, Joyce Moriku who also presided over the discharge of 10 patients, these patients were released after they tested negative twice for COVID-19.The new figures now mean that Uganda COVID-19 recoveries have surpassed the active cases.
Out of a total number of 56 confirmed cases, 38 have recovered from the virus leaving only 18 active cases.
As of today, Uganda has not registered a single death from the deadly coronavirus and information from the health ministry indicates that even more people are expected to be discharged in the coming days which is a clear sign of work in progress in trying to fight the pandemic.
However, Uganda will capture all COVID-19 foreigners including truck drivers as her confirmed cases!To date 5 truck drivers have tested positive (1 Ugandan, 1 Tanzanian and 3 Kenyans) but 1 Kenyan and 1 Tanzanian have been repatriated to their countries for treatment.
