Vigils In Honour Of The Late Maj. General Kasirye Ggwanga Shall Not Happen Due To COVID-19.
There shan’t be any vigil for the fallen Ma. General Kasirye Ggwanga at any of his homes after the Uganda People’s Defence forces announced that it shall remain with the body for a few days.
‘It was agreed that as we mourn the demise of or gallant (Rtd) General, we must also not forget that COVID-19 is still with us and the country continues to receive new infections.’ UPDF Spokesperson, Lt. Col. Deo Akiiki said.
The Spokesperson went ahead to say that this conclusion was after a brief meeting with the deceased’s family.
The army health team shall ensure that COVID19 prevenive measures such as hand sanitizing shall be observed t the burial grounds as Kasirye’s body will be laid to rest on Friday.
His body shall be dressed in full honours of a UPDF General after a brief burial program.
Major General Kasirye Ggwanga died yesterday at Nakasero hospital due to a blood clot.
